Our Eastern Independence Rotary members had an inspiring evening at the Resiliency Gala: Sequins After Sunset, hosted by Answering the Call. This incredible nonprofit supports our first responders during challenging times, and it was heartwarming to see firsthand the impact they make.
Winefest Update
The big focus is ticket sales. Keep promoting and sharing with people to buy their tickets. People can purchase tickets at https://tinyurl.com/IndepUncorked26.
We are working on a sharing method in which our Charity of Choice will have the opportunity to earn over the $25,000 based on profits and cost sharing. Chad will have more details to come.
Membership Update
Please tell us the name of your “walk up” song, (the song played as a player walks up to bat and one that has special significance for him/her)i.e. “Smooth” by Carlos Santana because you are such a great batter or tell us if you were a mascot for a team, which doesn’t need to exist, use your imagination, and tell us what would you be and why? Social
April 30 at 5:00 p.m. is the next social for club members at V's Italiano Ristorante (10819 E US Hwy 40, Independence, MO 64055). The club will be covering some appetizers and a round of drinks.
Board Meeting Notes
Sue is looking at future service projects if you have ideas.
Alicia reported that scholarships are selected and recipients have been invited to a future club meeting. If you want to present the Fort Osage Scholarship let Stephanie know. It will be on May 4th at 7:00 p.m.
We are not going to do a reduced schedule this summer. Club meetings will still be held every week.
Information for Rotary District 6040 Conference
We are excited to announce that registration is open for the annual District Conference!
This year the conference will be held at the Rotary Youth Camp in Lee's Summit April 24th and April 25th, with a special concert to be held on Friday April 24th.
