Giving
The board approved two donations. The first was $1,000 to Salvation Army for mother's and children. The second was $500 to Bright Futures Fort Osage to help purchase school supplies, underwear, and supplies for the Back to School Bash to help students and families in need.
Winefest Update
The big focus is ticket sales. Keep promoting and sharing with people to buy their tickets. People can purchase tickets at https://tinyurl.com/IndepUncorked26.
Next week there will be a sign up for visiting other area local Rotary clubs to help promote Winefest.
Committees
At next week's meeting you will get to hear from each committee chair about what they are responsible for and how you can get involved. If you are not able to attend the meeting, let Matt know how you would like to get involved. Committees include: finance, giving, membership, service, youth, foundation, programs, communication, and social.
Service
The club is participating in the CAPA Play like a Kid day on July 31st. Let Sue know if you are interested in participating.
Fort Osage Bright Futures is hosting a Back to School event on August 1 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. There is an opportunity to volunteer between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. You do not have to volunteer the whole time. Contact Stephanie if you are interested in helping out.
Youth
The club was joined by Jacob, one of our scholarship recipients. He was an impressive young man and the club enjoyed hearing about his plans for the fall.
Our RYLA student, Andrew England, heads off to camp this weekend. We look forward to having him come to a future club meeting to share his experience.
